Clive and Dennis discuss recent comings and going in the gender wars, a University Union keeping a sinister list of GC people and the law of medical negligence re the Tavistock
I don't know how it is over there, but here in the US the big class action suits are often advertised on TV to recruit clients. You mentioned asbestos litigation as an example of how this kind of law works, and the TV ads that went with the big asbestos settlement were on the air for more than 20 years. A few weeks ago, I talked with a Brit who had been over here for a few years and could *recite* the definition of mesothelioma used in those ads. About 1 in maybe 1000 Americans had any clue what mesothelioma is in 1998. Today, maybe 1 in 1000 doesn't know. That's an incredible case study in marketing communications. So now imagine what ads for "gender affirmation injuries" might accomplish on the culture.
Yay! I love these episodes, have to admit that I really look forward to them each week!
